What is the natural adhesion method?
The natural adhesion method encourages adhesion through minimal openings; its advantage is a line that holds longer than with buried suture, with quicker recovery than the incisional method.
Does double-eyelid surgery leave a scar?
The buried-suture and natural adhesion methods leave almost no scar, and even the incisional method hides inside the crease, becoming barely visible as time passes.
How long does recovery take?
This differs considerably with the method and the state of the lid. Where an incision was made, sutures come out in about 5–7 days, and when you can return to daily life depends on how quickly swelling subsides, so we advise after seeing the eye at consultation. How long the line takes to settle also varies from person to person.
Should ptosis correction be done as well?
Where ptosis with weak eye opening is present, a crease alone rarely brings a clear eye area, so ptosis correction may be recommended alongside. The decision follows a detailed assessment.
